What is a mua?

Mua is the acronym for Makeup Artist; someone who uses cosmetic techniques and artistic skills to apply makeup to the skin to transform, enhance, and bring out features and/or add color to a person.

What are Hairstylists?

Hairstylists shampoo and condition, cut, trim, color, add extensions, and weaves. Hairstylist help with wig and weave removal, scalp treatments, and knowledge on hair care and how to maintain hairstyles.

What are natural hairstylist?

Professional hairstylists who work primarily on textured and or natural curly ethnic hair without using heavy processing techniques. Styles such as cornrows, Afro management, braids, locs, and twist are a few of the many natural hairstyles that Natural Hairstylist can provide.

Is there a sign-up or monthly fee?

There are no sign-up or monthly fees.

What are Estheticians?

Because MUA is a mobile in-home service app, our Estheticians only book Eyelash Extension appointments for now.  Estheticians are trained in many fields. Estheticians are certified to do facials, acne treatments, eyebrows, microdermabrasion, waxing, makeup application, body wraps, and more.

What is the refund policy?

If you arent happy with your service email us immediately within one hour after job completition with pictures explaining in detail your issue to rebookings@makeupuponarrival.com

Feel sick? If you think you have Covid19 symptoms, let us know, and your request will be canceled with no fee, or we will kindly reschedule your appointment.

What if the service I want to be done isn’t available as an option?

If you don’t see the service, style, or look you want, no worries! Clients will be able to customize orders specifically to their liking before booking the appointment.

Are all specialist licensed?

No, all specialists are not required to be licensed.  Laws and regulations vary by state.  “Makeup Upon Arrival” takes pride in professionalism; therefore, our specialists are trained and highly skilled. Our specialist must go through an in-depth vetting process before becoming hired—our team of experts rate specialists due to their skill set. Background checks, certificates, rewards, licenses, style relevancy, creativity, authenticity, and technique are all taken into consideration before hiring.

How do I cancel?

Clients have a cancel button feature. If the client cancels within 20 minutes of booking, they will not incur a fee. All appointments booked days in advance must be canceled 24 hours prior to the scheduled appointment to avoid a cancellation fee. If canceled within the 24-hour window of the scheduled appointment, clients will be charged a cancellation fee of 25% of the total costs.

How much time do I have before specialist arrives at my home?

After the service request is accepted the specialist has a time frame of Two hours and Thirty minutes to arrive at the clients location.

What payments are accepted?

Visa, Mastercard, PayPal.

Do I need to bring my own products?

No, our specialists arrive equipped with everything needed for the client.

Do I need to check my temperature?

Yes, a temperature check is required before entering the home and rendering services. A temperature check is mandatory to ensure the client doesn’t have a fever. A touchless thermometer is recommended.

How do I prepare for makeup and eyelash appointments?

It is highly recommended that every client wash their face prior to the specialist arrival, removing any oil, dirt, mascara, and previous makeup.

For all hair bookings, we recommend you wash your hair before the hairstylist arrives. We understand some hairstyles require wet or dry hair to be prepared and executed properly. If so, clients can customize their orders before bookings; clients can also ask questions and send pics of what they do or don’t like.

When will my credit card be charged?

Your card will be charged after the completion of the requested order.

How does gratuity work?

Simple and easy, clients are able to tip the specialist after services have been rendered.

Makeup Upon arrival is an online destination that allows customers to book luxurious beauty services in the comfort of their own homes.

Need hair, makeup, eyelashes, or nails done? No problem! Download our app (It’s Free) select a service, a specialist, and submit. Don’t see what you want? You can customize your order! Sit back relax, and one of our specialists will arrive to provide the services you requested all in the comfort of your home.

When is the latest I can book an appointment?

All bookings must be placed 1 min before closing. All orders must be accepted by the specialist. Please note late bookings may not be accepted due to specialist schedule and time constraints.

Who are our mua specialists?

Our specialists are expert professionals. Some are freelance professionals, entrepreneurs, mothers, fathers, and others work for corporate companies as muas, cosmetologists, managers, etc.…..

How long in advance can I book an appointment?

3 months. Email mua@makeupuponarrival.com for any and all inquiries related to bookings that exceed 90 days.

Can I choose a particular specialist?

Any Specialist can be selected depending on specialist availability.

What if I’m running late?

When your specialist calls, be sure to inform the specialist that you’re running late. When it comes to timing, we understand some things don’t go as planned, that’s why our specialist give every client a 15 minute grace period. If possible, inform the specialist by giving them your approximate time of arrival.

It is recommended you email mua@makeupuponarrival.com informing us you’re late to avoid being charged full price.

If the specialist agrees to wait, the job can proceed. Due to specialist scheduling, accommodations for late arrivals can not be guaranteed.

What if I don’t show up?

If the client books an appointment and is not present at the location for their own appointment, they will be charged full price for services.

What if my specialist doesn’t arrive?

We will accommodate the client with several options. The client will have the option for a replacement, rescheduling, or the client may receive a credit and/or request a refund.

What if my specialist arrives late?

If your specialist arrives late and you can no longer get the services done due to scheduling, you can request a refund or reschedule for another future appointment.

The specialist and client can also mutually agree to proceed as planned if the late arrival doesn’t affect scheduling for either party.

How can I message my specialist?

When creating an order, clients have the option to add messages and notes to further customize their orders.

Due to the expertise and skill set of each job, it’s very important our specialist maintain a one on one relationship with the client focusing on their particular needs and wants. In order to make this possible and provide high-quality satisfaction, personal messages not pertaining to a booked appointment are prohibited.
